We base our support on the Development Individual Relationship Based (DIR®) Intervention Model. The objectives of the DIR® approach is to build healthy foundations for social, emotional, educational and intellectual capacities rather than focusing on the surface behaviour.
We specialise in disorders such as ASD, EBD, ADHD, PDA, OCD, Down’s syndrome, language disorders, attachment disorders and behavioural difficulties. We believe in a person centred developmental approach and we celebrate each individual for who they are, whilst building on their strengths.
When you contact us we will arrange a free consultation with you to prioritise where your needs lie. We will then develop an action plan with you to meet those needs setting objectives, targets and outcome measures.
We can then tailor the support package you require to these needs.
DIR – training in the DIR model and competency gradings, assessment, strategies, coaching
Behaviour – training, 1-1, coaching, assessment, behaviour support plans, crisis management, graduated responses, policies and procedures, risk assessment
SLT – training, assessment, individual programs, coaching
Parent Partnership - A lot of parents we speak to feel isolated by the systems that are set up to support them and their children. SNT look to bridge that gap and get parents and teachers working more closely together through breaking down barriers and communicating with each other, sharing strategies and best practice.
Parent partnership is a program developed and provided by SNT which aims to bridge the gap between the home and school environments. The aim of the program is to ensure consistency of approach across the two settings.
Currently the parent partnership is in place in several schools across the Rhondda Cynon Taff and Bridgend areas.
Parent partnership also seeks to provide:
Clear lines of communication between home and school
Enables schools to understand what is happening in the home environment
To provide parents with an understanding of the DIR model and the opportunity to receive coaching in the model
To ensure parents and schools work together to establish consistent strategies
For all involved to get a greater understanding of the child’s individual and sensory needs
SNT provides assessment for children/adults who are experiencing difficulties in their home environment where we will assess your needs and develop strategies to reduce the impact of behaviour and develop effective communication strategies.
